I've been on the hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie for years and I have finally found the perfect recipe. If you're a cookie addict like me, then look no further. Try this easy recipe ASAP as I guarantee you will love it. This cookie has a slightly crunchy exterior, with a mushy and sweet interior. The brown butter boosts the flavor profile making this cookie absolutely perfect.
Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs + 1 egg yolk, room temperature
splash of vanilla
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking sode
1 tsp salt
12 oz bag of semi sweet chocolate chips
Method:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
First, you need to brown your butter. Simply add the 2 sticks of butter to a clean pot and heat it on medium. The butter will melt and then begin to bubble, let it bubble, stirring occasionally, until you notice the milk solid starting to brown at the bottom of the pan. This will take around 5-10 minutes. Don't let it burn, as soon as it turns a golden brown color, take it off the heat and let it cool for around 20 minutes
Once the butter is cooled, add it to the brown and white sugar and mix well with a spatula
Now add the eggs and vanilla and mix with the spatula
Add the flour, baking soda and salt and mix
Add the chocolate chips and mix
Spoon cookies with an ice cream scoop onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Freeze the sheet for at least 15 minutes
Now bake for 9-15 minutes (until the cookies turn a light golden brown)
Tips:
I don't like too much chocolate in my cookies so I add around 3/4 of the 12oz bag
Freezing the cookies is important as it allows them to keep their puffy shape in the oven
You can add nuts like pecans or walnuts at the last step as well
