Boujie Hot Cocoa

I love the feeling of a warm mug of hot cocoa between my fingers as I binge on trashy reality shows in the coziness of my living room couch. I had to find the best hot cocoa recipe for this and no, I don't like any of the powdered options; just no!

Hot cocoa is easy to make and my recipe is not just easy but can be changed around to your specific taste.

My ✨boujie✨ hot cocoa recipe, perfect for a warm and cozy night in:

Ingredients

4 cups milk

Half of a 12oz can of condensed milk

1 1/2 cups of semi sweet chocolate or a mix of milk chocolate and dark chocolate

1 cup of coffee

Method

  1. Add milk to a deep sauce pan and put it on medium heat

  2. Add the condensed milk and stir until dissolved

  3. Add the chocolate (I like to use the fanciest chocolate available in my local grocery store but have also used basic chocolate chips or morsels and it still tastes amazing)

  4. Add the coffee* and stir until the mixture is almost bubbling (just a low simmer)

  5. Serve with whipped cream, cocoa powder and some marshmallows

*Tip: the coffee brings out the flavor of the chocolate and just makes the whole drink “chocolatier“. Use any coffee you like, you won't actually taste it at the end.

Tip: I like my hot cocoa rich and chocolatey, not too sweet
